Environmental Health Course Developments at Curtin University
15th Oct 12
Due to low student enrolments, Curtin University has cut 2 of its 3 environmental health programs. The EHA accredited undergraduate environmental health major in the Bachelor of Science (Health, Safety & Environment) and the Masters of Environmental Health will be discontinued with no further students being admitted. The Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Health (PGDEH) will be the only environmental health course continuing at Curtin University. The PGDEH has recently received approval from the Western Australian Environmental Health Officer’s Professional Review Board as meeting the academic requirements for graduates to be employed to work in Local Government in Western Australia.
To be eligible for admission into the PGDEH, students must already have a science degree in a related area e.g. health science, health promotion, public health, health and safety, etc. Applicants who do not meet admission criteria may be required to undertake bridging units to become eligible for admission. The course will cost approximately $8K with Commonwealth Supported (or subsidised) Places (CSPs) being available.
