Allergy & Anaphylaxis in Food Premises: What EHOs need to know

Environmental Health Australia , in conjunction with Allergy and Anaphylaxis Australia and the Department of Health will be presenting a series of FREE workshops on ‘Allergy & Anaphylaxis in Food Premises : What EHOs need to know’.

The second metropolitan workshop will be held at the City of Cockburn on Friday 26th July 2013. Regional workshops are also proposed for Geraldton, Busselton and Kalgoorlie.

The Workshop will consist of presentations from Sandra Vale, State Vice-President, Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia and a representative from the Food Unit, DOH and then be followed by practical scenarios to help EHOs clearly understand their role and obligations with regard to this rather ‘grey’ area of legislation.

Alcohol and the Role of Local Government

Hosted by Environmental Health Australia (WA) Inc. with the
Australian Drug Foundation, Drug & Alcohol Office, Department of Racing Gaming & Liquor, McCusker Centre for Action on Alcohol & Youth, Centre for Health Promotion Research & Local Government, and is supported by WA Branch of the Australian Health Promotion Association (AHPA).

This full day workshop is for Local Government Environmental Health Officers, Planning Officers, Health Promotion Officers and other officers involved in managing related to alcohol at the local government level. This workshop brings together experts to address and discuss alcohol-related harm in Australian communities, the impacts on local governments, how local governments act to reduce alcohol related harm, planning and regulatory issues, emerging issues for local governments, examples and case studies of successful initiatives to reduce harm and improve management of alcohol.
