Summary Information

Environmental Sampling of recreational bodies of water such as beaches and rivers is undertaken to monitor the bacterial levels and ensure public health is protected. Recreational water bodies that are regularly sampled are graded based on the results obtained, information is also provided to the public during pollution events such as sewerage spills or following severe rainfall.
