Summary Information

Legionella pneumophila is associated with warm water environments such as cooling towers and evaporative air-conditioners whereas Legionella longbeachae is associated with potting mixes, mulches and soils. Warnings should be displayed on soil products to advise of precautionary measures; information concerning cooling tower maintenance can be found under Air-handling.
