Summary Information

Some Local Government Authorities provide immunisation programs to the community. These are usually programs run for young children, seniors or schools. The involvement from the EHO may include organising the venue, purchase and storage of vaccines, employment of nursing staff and other operational requirements. In Local Government’s where an immunisation program is not provided community health clinics may still provide this service, alternatively a person may obtain their immunisations from the family GP.
