Environmental Health - an eye on the future

Environmental Health Australia (South Australia) Incorporated ’s 32nd State Conference will be held on the 29th & 30th April 2010 at the Adelaide Pavilion, located within the beautiful Veale Gardens of Adelaide please see flyer attached. The Program will be finalised shortly, emailed out to all Members and posted on the website.

Our committee has succeeded in compiling a program that is both diverse and immensely beneficial to the professional development of Environmental Health Practitioners.

ETA Installation Training Day - Friday 20 March 2009

Organised by the Wastewater SIG with support from Department of Health

You are invited to attend a training opportunity which will involve a practical drainlaying exercise with SA Water and the installation of an Evapo Transpiration Absorption (ETA) bed as per AS1547. The day will utilise the knowledge of a range of experts within the field. These systems are identified in the standard as being appropriate for very poor soil types, and will become relevant knowledge to EHOs, Engineers & Planners in South Australia, particularly with the development of the new Wastewater Systems Code.

Cost: Thanks to a generous sponsorship from Department of Health and Alexandrina Council, costs have been kept to a minimum and are as per registration form.

Food Act Enforcement - When to Get the Whip Out, The Hurdles and Victories (This seminar held November 2008)

The purpose of the training is to provide South Australian Environmental Health Officers with knowledge, skills and examples that will enable them to utilise the available suite of food safety enforcement options and to approach these options with confidence and consistency.

The purpose of the training is to provide South Australian Environmental Health Officers with knowledge and skills that will enable them to assess clandestine drug laboratories, as well as provide an understanding of the involvement of other agencies in the remediation process.
